Our Vision
Our aim is to manufacture fine quality solid wood furniture that will be long last for generations to come, using teak and/or mahogany wood. Accomplished with some of the best hardware, fixtures, glues and finishing materials as available. Cozywood Jepara has been in the woodworking business in Indonesia for more than 10 years. With strict quality control, Cozywood has successfully built a furniture production network with patio furniture, teak furniture, antique reproduction, modern and minimalist furniture craftsmen. In addition to relying on this wood craftsmen, we have a workshop that is used to build the product mockup that will be used as guidelines by wood craftsmen.

Raw wood
Using plantation timbers, Keep the quality of every finished piece with the selection of the lumber. Only the fine teak and mahogany is used, which each board is assorted by hand and matched properly in order to perform an ambient grain and color . Once the boards had been selected, the cutting and carving of individual pieces will begin.

Although modern advantages have been implemented to the furniture production process, some of the works are still depend on the skill and expertise of fine-craftspeople. The genuine hand-carved details, floating panel structure and hand-sanded finish are still acquired in the same manner as they were in a century ago. Structure & Solid wood
Drawers and Case’s joinery are made over a dovetail interlocking joints, very difficult to make but extremely strong. Tenons are very carefully cut to ensure a precise snug fit into the recess piece(mortise) of each joint made. All pieces are solid wood thoroughly i.e.: Drawer bases, back of cabinets, even concealed components are solid wood, with no plywood or hardboard utilized.

Finishing
Nitrocellulose lacquers is the have been the most used finish for indoor furniture products in our factory. This is due to nitrocellulose lacquer’s great appearance, ease of use and repair, quick dry and low cost. Nitrocellulose lacquers are coatings based on nitrocellulose resin dissolved in a solvent solution and are designed to protect and beautify wood. Nitrocellulose is a film forming resin that can be modified with many other resins (such as alkyds, acrylics, maleic resins, oils, plasticizers, etc.) to produce finishes with a wide variety of properties. The finishes can be flexible or hard, clear or colorful, easy to sand or mar resistant, fast or slow drying, glossy or flat, high or low viscosity, applied by spray, brush, or squeegee, and the list goes on and on.
